Back to School… and Back to Business (Kind Of)

Dana Mcknight

Somehow it’s August. And if you’re in North Carolina, you already know—it’s almost time to trade snack negotiations and slow mornings for school drop-off lines and permission slip chaos.

And while the kids are sharpening pencils and pretending they didn’t forget how to do math, a lot of us business owners are over here like: “What day is it? What month? Are we supposed to be batching content again?”

Our content calendar needs the same kind of reset.

Let’s be real.
Summer was a blur.
Half your marketing plan is still a note-to-self in your voice memos.
You’ve been posting when you feel inspired (which—no judgment—hasn’t been often).

No shade if your summer strategy was “vibe and pray.” Because same.

But the -ber months are loading. And you know what that means:
👉People are back on routines
👉Your audience is actually checking their inboxes again
👉It’s time to warm them back up before Q4 hits

So what now?

No, you don’t need a brand overhaul.
No, you don’t need to go buy another planner.
(Unless that sparks joy. I totally support that.)

You just need a content plan that feels clear, manageable, and true to you.

Something that says:
“I know what I’m doing”-even if you’re writing it in a hoodie at 10 p.m. next to a laundry basket while eating your kid’s leftover fruit snacks.

Here’s your reminder:
You don’t need to show up perfectly.
You just need to show up.

Fall is the perfect time to reconnect with your audience—whether it’s through your feed, your inbox, or that blog you swore you’d revive.

Let’s make this your most intentional content season yet.

Messy bun, iced coffe, and a Spotifu playlist that makes you feel like a boss included.
