Meet Magnolia’s First Guest Blogger!

The best content happens when we blend voices, ideas, and fresh perspectives—which is exactly why I’m thrilled to introduce our very first guest blogger at Magnolia Content Studios.

Meet Shelby, a woman who’s mastered the art of choosing herself through what she calls “solo dates.” In today’s post, she’s sharing how intentional time with yourself isn’t just self-care—it’s a practice that builds confidence, sparks creativity, and reminds you that you don’t need a special occasion to show up for yourself.

Her recent solo date experience at our studio turned into something deeper than a content session—it became a reset, a reminder of her own worth, and proof that the relationship you have with yourself sets the tone for everything else.

This is the kind of piece that will have you:

  • Highlighting lines to remember
  • Having those lightbulb moments
  • Texting it to your business bestie immediately
  • Actually booking that thing you’ve been putting off

Whether you’re single, married, or somewhere in between, her words will remind you that you’re worthy of your own time and attention.

I’m genuinely excited for you to discover @iambombshel_‘s content. She has this beautiful way of making self-care feel accessible and empowering. Go follow her for more posts that will inspire you to show up for yourself.

Why I Started Dating Myself: The Heart Behind My Solo Date Series

I’m a 30-something woman in a season of celibacy, and while that choice has been freeing, it also changed how I approach dating and connection. I still love great food, beautiful spaces, and little luxuries—so I decided I wasn’t going to wait around for anyone else to experience them.

That’s how my Solo Date Series was born: a commitment to treating myself with the same intention I once reserved for others.

What a Solo Date Means to Me

At its core, a solo date is intentional time set aside for you—no audience, no pressure.

It might look like:
• Ordering the entrée you’ve been craving
• Booking the class you keep saving on Instagram
• Spending a quiet hour creating just because it makes you feel alive

And here’s the key: solo dates aren’t just for single people.

Even in relationships, marriage, or parenthood, it’s easy to get swallowed up by routines and responsibilities. Solo dates are a reminder that you’re a whole person who deserves care and attention, too.

My Solo Date at Magnolia Content Studio

Recently, I booked two hours at Magnolia Content Studio. While my goal was to capture rebrand content, the experience turned into so much more.

The studio was calm, beautiful, and thoughtfully designed—exactly the kind of space that sparks creativity and quiet reflection. I wasn’t just taking photos; I was pressing pause, reconnecting with myself, and reminding myself that I’m worthy of showing up fully for me.

It didn’t just feel like a content session—it felt like a reset.

Why I Keep Going

Solo dates keep me grounded. They:
• Build confidence
• Spark creativity
• Prove I can choose myself—no special occasion required

Whether it’s dinner for one, pouring a custom candle, or booking time at Magnolia Content Studio, every solo date leaves me feeling fuller than when I started.

Your Gentle Nudge

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to try a solo date—this is it.

Book the thing.
Try the place.
Take up space in your own life.

Choosing yourself isn’t selfish; it’s how you stay whole. And trust me—you’re worth every bit of it.

“ it’s easy to get swallowed up by routines and responsibilities” this resonated with me so much because it’s true!!! As a married woman and a first time parent, I believed “self care” meant, “me before you” — selfishly. Until I learned, I HAVE to take care of me, in order to be the best FOR you! I ABSOLUTELY love this collaboration! I can not wait to get all dolled up and check it out for myself!! It looks like such a grounding experience! Thank you for sharing!!
